A number of us in Hermetics have taken to using figurative jewelry in a serious way. It is just WHAT IS.
We all have our favorite jewelers and magical item manufacturers, and I have absolute respect for well-made items in someone else’s tool kit that I would not necessarily like to have myself.
And vice versa, I hope.
I find it best to stick to The One, for anyone who can get my attention has constructed an entire magical universe, different from my own, but still WEAK.
It is a great era of The Eye, not the saws, so you get a real butt kick if you don’t go Very High and Very Low, and by that I mean, for Hermetics, you have to Study and Meditate, think about the Path; though some do prefer the work of popular entertainment to books, and I lament the very concept relative to anything to do with our Path, for it is preeminently a Path of BOOKS.
But, when in Rome, eh?, so I have jumped into the world of jewelry, while also recognizing that everyone seems to choose a favorite Goth jeweler, and I have found Fr. F. Lapointe, of Arcana XIII, Gothic Jewelry, available on Etsy for a modest fee.
Here is the first piece I procured from this glorious craftsman. Beleth, the Master of Love, complete with a red Eye. I took a single jewelry-making class, which wasn’t much, but I do understand the careful modicum of this artist, and appreciate it.
He has many types of lovely items available. They each have a specific spell, and if you are Kenning, you can contemplate these items and grasp what is being requested, and paid for in your life work.
I am not a vampire.
I do not consciously work off of others, and I do not appreciate being worked off of so hard that it injures me. It is nasty.
But this is a great era of vampire magic, with the newbies taught to stay away from anything traditional that might construct magical energy. In the beginning of the work, that was not so bad, in that 1 person in 100 was working. Now it is everyone sucking everyone’s blood, and many of our best life endeavors are being destroyed.
Let’s get some work done, whatever it may be, that is overt. Please, go to Church, synagogue, lodge, coven or temple, even on Zoom. Do some brujería and light a candle. Perform a sacred Rite imprecating the powers of Love. In this case, the correspondences would be the color Green, the number 7, and the Archangel Haniel.
In Healed worlds, we imprecate the Judeo-Christian Angels of Venus to balance work with the ancient Mesopotamian love powers.
I have commended the oeuvre of Jake Stratton-Kent, which is an entire life and magical universe integral to itself that does not, however, consider everything, whereas Arundell Overman’s work pretty much handles the job of doing research for the average person, like myself, who simply needs to learn about the ancient powers antedating Judaism and Christianity, that still function within it, and not necessarily for evil, though the particular Style and structure of Christianity downplays this and elevates that, and did so for historical reasons. We must all bow the knee and confess the tongue to the Lords of Creation, Destruction, and Preservation, but I do not choose to consider the ancient powers entirely catabolic but merely a different energy civilization that I, having been brought up by an astrologer and a Mason, consider more my actual energy Home.
At the same time, Judeo-Christianity is the prevalent life-and-death technology of this culture and era, though it seems to be passing into not exactly History but not exactly the real power religion of now, which is syncretizing East and West and causing many other often neglected traditions to lend their wisdom and elegance.
THE GAME is, indeed, a new religion, but it should not be feeding anyone to the lions.
