Medieval European magick used to use therianthropic imagery because it distinguished itself from the normal, living cats. That is what Bael is and why the magick is so effective. 

The work of Freyja contains reference to mythology as well as the designation of her sacred animal as the male cat. Her chariot is drawn by two such cats. 

Such a being is a superior instrument for magick, because ordinary cats are too bound up in the thought processes of their normal lives to change that much when they are being real. Animals do a lot of quasi-telekinetic etheric functioning in their own bodies and need their energy to work at their own lives. Hunting mice, eating flies, defending the nest — these all involve a great deal of transdimentional energy work, and it is squandering their EPICS to mooch from the heights. We should work low as well as high, involving the physical body and those of the lower socioeconomic levels. It injures them to overtax the system so much that they cannot conduct their lives with adequate strength. At the same time, they become wrapped up in human spirituality and often spend their afterlives working with such portals as Bael, Freyja, and the very-popular Egyptian (Hermetic) godform Sekhmet — so loved of Thelemites — a choice the animals should yet be able to make. I do not wish to be parochial in the exclusion of the alien form of the GREY as also a portal for cats. Why not update? One idea for a working that I have yet to assay is the use of the existing godforms or shapeshifting as a working for cat sorcery, as suggested by Bael in the last post.

If today’s sorcerers are working with the astral image of a regular cat, then they are enchanting actual cats in the neighborhood. In the short run, I am confident that this could be quite effective in that the cats are now carriers of the magical instructions and causing all kinds of CHANGE IN CONFORMANCE WITH IRK that we see so much in my experience of copy machines breaking only when I am around, phones going mysteriously dead, the computer shorting out, etc., in a particular way. Not everything is magick — it is actually quite rare — but I can tell when something is and my GPS sends me around and around in circles — DON’T GO IT’S MY WORLD. Why didn’t you tell me? — and the cat energies associated with people who have these marvelous pets.

Now this is all very well and good until the cats figure things out and start changing the rules of the game or get some witches around who work in this old way and then the whole business gets in the control of the cats.

WHICH WE OWL.

A therianthropic being is a being in a transformative state that leads on to greater power, noticed by us in Egyptian godforms.

It is also very worked in Greco-Egyptian magick of which the dark arts of the West were part.

It is also possible that such a being is a shapeshifted sorcerer who has worked extensively with multiple attributes and requires them all on the astral, or a team of beings that include these animals and appear as a single being LIKE A PAGAN GOD or something in Ezekiel 1 (KJV):

Since these are all farm animals, we are clear that THE USUAL SUSPECTS in demon work are on the job. More of this in THE MANGER SCENE.

THAT’S A LION, NOT A CAT.

THE SOLOMONIC MAGICIAN — whom the Thelemites like to call THE GHOUL — assures me that there are many magickal and religious structures in such imagery over and above that of shamanism, and it would be dangerous to assume that regular animals can assay this magick without destruction at this point. Many monotheistic religionists also lurk within this imagery to cause DIRKS to any animals who choose to enter it. 

• And we hate you for doing this in our work, say some of the workplace sorcerers who enchant the staff and often bring them into drug and sex magick. Side effects may include addiction and venereal disease. HEAR FREYJA.

Felids all form up in a magickal image of a lion. That lion is enterable by a regular cat, and would have been mostly arranged that way, especially in the Christian realm of Germany where lions were scarcer than cats.

Eagles and chickens have similar arrangements.

When I first started doing Solomonic magick, whenever I would wind up for an evocation, I would start to see my magical image, and it was not as I expected. After a good fifteen years of almost daily work with the Hexagram ritual and its Analysis of the Keyword, this power had heard me say the words, Virgo Isis Mighty Mother, Scorpio Apophis Destroyer, Sol Osiris Slain and Risen thousands of times.

Evidently in New World Sorcery, everyone’s astral image has an African look, and this Hermetist was somehow turned into an African. Most people look like someone else altogether, themselves magically transformed into an African version of themselves.

Some wear African masks, especially in state sorcery.

What I looked like was simply myself with an African tone of skin, a Hermetic nemyss and robes, and a very fine but large SCORPION TAIL.

Evidently the powers of the demons — who make you into an animal — decided that I was asking to be a scorpion, since that was the only animal regularly appearing in the rites — FORGIVE THEM FOR THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO — so they built me a tail. It was very funny and then I immediately began asking the gods for what Scorpio is famous for, and all of the Jews nearly killed me. You don’t get that in this world. Just plain.

Hence many of my problems.
